True Ohio Love

When I think of Ohio, my home state and current state, the first image that pops into my head are rolling fields of corn. Maybe it's just my Midwest outlook but I think there is something so simple and beautiful about that backdrop. And those from Ohio will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I had the pleasure of using that very backdrop for a beautiful wedding in Medina, OH. It was an intimate gathering and the joy was palpable as Mike and Montanna joined their lives together this August.

Enjoy a few images from their big day and hopefully I can convince a few out of state onlookers that corn fields can be beautiful!

Spring Forward

Although it doesn't look like spring outside, the time will spring forward this weekend and I'm looking forward to the change. No, I'm not looking forward to being an hour late to church on Sunday but I am excited to move past winter into greener pastures.

One of those pastures being engagement sessions and spring weddings. There is just something so beautiful about getting married when everything is beginning to bloom. In honor of that excitement I thought I'd post some photographs that I never got around to sharing this past year. Here are a few of my favorite moments. Enjoy!

This or That

It's coming down to the lasts and as sad as that may seem it only means that a bunch of firsts are about to come! My last viscom project (hard to believe i just said that) was a 12 image series of our choice to add to our portfolio.

Since I'm obsessed with advertising and my campaign photography fell through (illustrations to come from that) I decided to do a campaign for Maybelline that compares their tools of the trade with tools from other trades. This campaign targets the makeup artists that treat their makeup as tools for their job. Others may work with power tools but these women, or men, work just as hard with their own set of power tools. I matched similar looking tools to accomplish this with a double page spread that could run in magazines. So to the fashionista workerbees: Which goes in your toolbox?

Enjoy the personalized campaign!
